Melianthe Laini was born a chieftains daughter in a wild elf tribe that lived in Dunwood. From early on, it was obvious that she had a unique talent in understanding the language of humans and diplomatic endeavors. Her father, Chief Calenion decided to send her out while still a child to help negotiate a current border dispute with their neighbors in Bezentil. She performed so well that her father ordered her to travel through the areas of Narfell, Implitur, Thesk and Aglarond.
Feeling betrayed, Melianthe gradually stopped returning to her tribe and chose to stay among the humans to spite her father. As time passed, her wild ways tamed, and che slowly became more civilited and cultured. Also, blossoming into a young lady, her beauty began to be noticed as well. Soon her social skills were put to the test as she foought off offers of marriage from countless nobles and adventures of all races. Even the temple of Sune kept sending evoys to her. hoping to recruit her into the flock. Alone and cut off from her family she wandered incognito through the streets of New Sarshel, trying to decide what to do when she stumbled down a flight of stairs and into a small alley. Tough she did not know why, she followed the tiny, dark alley where it ended before a small, plain but very well-maintained building. Always curious, she made her way through the arched doorway and discovered she was in a small but beautiful temple dedicated to Tymora.
Greeted by Brother of the Coin Baloron she sat and listend as he explained Tymora and her charge on Toril. Though not so much interested in the theological part, Tymora’s nature, or more accurately what she stood for, struck a chord in Melianthe and from then devoted herself to serving the Lucky Lady.
After her studies were completed, she set out to wander and gain fame and fortune for herself and her god. Though always looking to ease suffering and pain of the wounded, she is no saint. There must be a reason or need.
